friendly, pleasent, efficient, helpfull service good value. would stay there again.
very noisey extracter in shared toilet on third floor.
This hotel is the poor relation to the Hotel Metropole next door where we had to go for our excellent breakfast. Alfa Zermatt is badly in need of a face lift but it is certainly value for money considering the high cost of accommodation in Zermatt. While the room was miniscule, its fittings were very good and the bed was comfortable which is probably more important that the amount of space around it.
Very small room
Just in the view of the Matterhorn.
The hotel is close to the train station and is relatively inexpensive for Zermatt; it's very basic inside and have small single rooms but it served the purpose on one night stay. The breakfast which is provided at the sister hotel beside it was excellent!
quite good, but why I have to write at least 15 words?
Needs upgrading, friendly staff, good breakfast
It is about 5 minutes walk from the train station. You have to check in with the hotel next door because this hotel isn't staffed at the reception. The staff speak pretty good English and made some suggestions about hiking in the area. You have to eat breakfast next door, but the breakfast is excellent. The matterhorn view during breakfast was excellent. One of the best I've had in Europe. It had free wifi, but at night the connections were pretty slow with everyone on.
I was in one of the dorm doors and the room was very small that I couldn't open up my luggage at all unless I opened it up on my bed. There was a lot of stuff taking up a lot of room like a huge desk. On one of the nights I couldn't get the hot water running in the shower, so I used another shower room. The toilet room was very tiny that you had to squeeze through to get in and out and I'm a small person and no sink in the toilet, so you had to wash your hands in your room.
Good location, 5min walk from station, very nice breakfast and service
The view of the Materhorn, helpful english speaking staff.
This would have to be the best value budget hotel in Zermatt. Excellent value, excellent breakfast and welcoming and friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again.
Very minimalist, but excellent for the price. It's right in the middle of town, with great free breakfast, and very clean. It is definitely not luxury, but it is comfortable and perfect if you don't plan on hanging out in your hotel room all day
took train to Gornergrad glacier and tram up to Kleine Matterhorn. Both a very expensive but such incredible views
Matterhorn in Morgenrot was visible from our room every morning. Because of fine weather, we enjoyed the changing light and shadow of Matterhorn from the dawn to the sunset.
Good and quiet location (5min walk from the railway station), very friendly and helpful staff who speak excellent english. Good breakfast in the neighbour hotel (Metropolitan, 10 meters away). All places were spotless clean. Nice small hotel, I would recommend and stay again.
Rooms a bit out-of-date and very small, but if you´re there for the mountains it really does not matter.
Very good, clean, budget hotel run by friendly helpful staff. Outstanding breakfasts were provided next door at their 5-star sister hotel - trust me, this is real added value! Very centrally placed for a 2-star, all facilities well maintained. The shared bathroom and shower the only minus, but not a problem in practice. Very highly recomended.
